155 YEARS THE FOUNDATION THE WOMENS ASSOCIATION "EDUCATION" IN  KARLVO

Many Karlovo’s residents came to the celebration of 155 years since the founding of the Womens Society "Education" in the city of Karlovo. The organizers of the event were the Historical Museum and the Womens Club "Rosova Dolina" with the participation of talented children from the Karlovoys Music School. The womens society "Education" in Karlovo has a remarkable and long history. Since its foundation in 1869, with its charitable work for the benefit of the citizens of Karlovy Vary, it has been an invariable part of the social, educational and cultural development of the city, an activity which continued on a large scale even after the Liberation. This celebration was dedicated to these worthy Karlovo womens, who worked selflessly with all their strength and skills for society, so that the memory of them and their noble deeds is alive. Guests had the opportunity to see a presentation of the Societys activities over the decades of its existence and all received a copy of the Societys first Articles of Association from 1870. In our modern society, the tradition of giving is still alive and today there is a place for everyone who works for free for the common good. As proof of this, the Womens Club "Rosova Dolina" presented a diploma and a monetary donation to the Sunday School in the village Kliment, in order to purchase pews and begin to transmit moral and Christian values ​​to the young generation, and to guests from cultural and educational institutions -schools, museums and libraries symbolically gifted candlesticks with an unquenchable flame to continue to maintain the spark of virtue and pass the story on to future generations. This was made possible thanks to the support of the "Birds in BG" project of the Bulgarian Fund for Women, co-financed by the European Union.
